Over the upcoming years, the Club's membership will continue to grow. With a gift of beautiful waterfront property on Bird Key. Growing membership has been accommodated by the addition of elegant dining rooms, extensive full service kitchen facilities, swimming pool, docks and slips, HarTru tennis courts, and a new exercise center.

Today the Bird Key Yacht Club plays host to weddings, numerous boating excursions and social events and is recognized as one of Southwest Florida's most prestigious private Clubs.

Bird Key Yacht Club is considered one of the outstanding yacht Clubs on Florida's West Coast, and its story is closely linked with the history of Sarasota. The Bird Key Yacht Club was organized for the purpose of promoting yachting and social enjoyment.

While there are many wonderful clubs in Sarasota, BKYC has some very special features in a package that no other Club can equal.BKYC offers formal and casual dining to rival the best restaurants in town. Lunch, dinner and Sunday brunch are served in the newly renovated Clubhouse bar and dining rooms with stunning views of Sarasota Bay and the Sarasota skyline. The Club is ideally situated on Bird Key only minutes from St. Armand's Circle and Lido Beach in one direction, and downtown Sarasota in the other.

It has a crisp yachting atmosphere, but neither boating nor dining is its sole focus. Its purpose remains as it was at its inception: to provide amusement, recreation, and entertainment for its members and friends. Some people join for the social events, parties, tennis, bridge, art exhibits, excursions and a score of other activities. Others join for the “eating Club” and a beautiful place to entertain their friends or keep their boats. Still others particularly enjoy the formal black tie events. But one universal goal sets our Club apart from any other...BKYC is committed to welcoming newcomers and to preserving the warm and comfortable ambience that makes it truly a home away from home for all its members.
