Birdsboro Orioles Baseball

The Birdsboro Coaches-Parents Association is the sole sponsor of both the American Legion Orioles and Senior Babe Ruth Orioles baseball teams. It is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing the highest quality baseball program for the young adults of our community. The main goals of our association are to instill the ideals of good sportsmanship, honesty, loyalty, courage, and respect for authority in our teams. This support group consists of coaches, player's parents, and members of the community who are dedicated to these goals. The BCPA is the main fundraising body and coordinator of all the teams activities. The members of this organization also maintain and improve the field and the facilities at Daniel Boone Optimist Field, which is owned by the Borough of Birdsboro.

History

The Birdsboro American Legion Baseball team was established in 1964 and has always been a member of the Berks County American Legion League. Originally, the team was formed with players from the Daniel Boone and Exeter School Districts. Presently our players are 15 to 19 year old boys who live in the Daniel Boone School District or Berks County portion of the Twin Valley School District.

The 2005 Birdsboro Orioles American Legion team features players from this area who are currently attending six different high schools. Our baseball program also includes a Senior Babe Ruth team that plays in the Ches-Mont League. Through our two teams we can give more young men the opportunity to play and improve their skills.
