Blue Plum Festival

325 East Main Street
423-797-6449

About:

Surprisingly, it's not a festival about a fruit. The name, Blue Plum Festival, is in honor of the 1800s rural post office serving an area in East Tennessee that would become known as Johnson City.

The Blue Plum Festival was originally organized by the Friends of Olde Downtowne in 1999. Its beginnings as a street fair has grown considerably over the years.  This year people from near and far will converge on downtown Johnson City over the course of 2 days to enjoy music, arts, food and a bike race on Sunday.

The event has continued for 15 years with the sole purpose of showcasing the continuing improvements in Downtown Johnson City, Tennessee, highlighting businesses in the community that support our revitalization efforts, and to bring together regional artists to show their wares, and provide a line-up of nationally recognized Americana entertainment in an outdoor, downtown setting.

The goal is simple...expose what downtown has to offer and ensure our festival attendees enjoy their stay so that they will become supporters of Downtown Johnson City, Tennessee and return to the City we love so much throughout the year!
