The town of Elizabethville was founded in April 1817, and became incorporated as a Borough of the Commonwealth in 1895. Elizabethville is located about 26 miles northeast of Harrisburg, at the crossroads of US Highway Route 209 and Pennsylvania State Route 225. It is situated in the Lykens Valley, between beautiful, scenic mountain ranges. The approximate population of Elizabethville is 1,500 citizens. The local government is comprised of a Mayor and seven Council members. We have a public school system, churches of various denominations, a volunteer fire company, a public library, banking institutions, a retirement home, a hotel and two bed and breakfasts, along with additional businesses of various kinds.
