What We Believe

As members of Calvary Baptist Church, we believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.  We believe that the Scriptures of the Old and New Testament are verbally inspired by God, without flaw and are the supreme and final authority in faith and life.  We also believe that God made man in His own image and that man’s sin separates him from God through physical and spiritual death. 

Calvary Baptist Church firmly believes that Jesus Christ was begotten of the Holy Spirit through the Virgin Mary and is true God and true Man.  We believe Christ died for our sins through His shed blood, according to the Scriptures, as a representative and a substitute for all sinners who believe on Him.  We believe Christ’s crucified body has been resurrected and had ascended into Heaven where he is a High Priest and Advocate for us.  We also believe in the personal, pretribulation, premillennial and imminent return of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.

The members here at Calvary, believe anyone who trusts in Christ as their personal Saviour are born again and have become children of God.  We believe that the Holy Spirit dwells within each one of us and that the Church of Christ is an elect group of believers who have been baptized into one body by the Holy Spirit.  We believe that Christ is the Head of the Church and its mission is to preach the Gospel to all nations.  We also believe that Christ’s Church will be caught up to meet the Lord in the air.  Calvary Baptist church is a Bible believing, Bible preaching church where God has given us a passion for evangelism.
