Caring Hospice Services Seeking Volunteers to Share Comfort and Peace

Caring Hospice Services in Mount Laurel, provides hospice services supporting patients and their loved ones in Burlington, Camden, Cumberland, and Gloucester counties.

Caring Hospice is a unique, holistic and cost effective service designed to meet the social, emotional, spiritual and physical needs of their patients and families as they face terminal illness. The mission of Caring Hospice is to coordinate patient and family services while respecting their choices, values, and beliefs.

Volunteers are needed to provide supportive care, companionship and hope to our patients and their families. Volunteers are crucial to fulfilling the hospice mission, and can serve in a wide variety of capacities:

-Patient visits - Spend time with patients providing companionship and a social outlet through holding simple conversation, reading, playing music and providing a calming presence.

-Therapeutic care - Provide professional complementary therapies, such as Reiki (must hold a current Reiki certification) and Massage (must hold a current state license in Massage Therapy).

-Pet Therapy - Provides an approved animal visitor (dog, cat, etc.).  Documented evidence of annual reputable therapy pet organization membership and veterinary visits attesting to good behavior, good health and current vaccinations are required.

-Music visits - Share your talent of singing or playing an instrument to provide joy and connection to our patients.

Indivdualized training is provided free of charge without the need to travel to the Mount Laurel office.  In keeping with Medicare requirements, background, DMV and medical checks are part of the onboarding process.  Schedule is flexible.  We hope you will consider this opportunity to give back and provide vital support to patients and their loved ones. If you have questions or are interested in giving your time, please contact Lucia DiSimone, Volunteer Coordinator, at 856-439-0012 or 888-288-2951 or [email protected].
