Caris Healthcare

446 East Cambridge Avenue

Caris Healthcare is looking for volunteers who would like to make a difference in the lives of patients and families. They are amazing inidividuals who offer gifts of caring, compassion and grace to people facing a life-limiting illness. At Caris, volunteers are a vital part of the hospice team who give of their time, talents and their hands to those who need it most.
We have three types of volunteers needed: Patient Care, Administrative, and Special Project. Patient Care volunteers are directly involved with patient and family. They provide: A hand to hold and voice that reassures, support in the final moments of life, reading and writing of letters for the patient, and spiritual care and prayer. Administrative volunteers work in our Caris office completing tasks such as filing, making and answering phone calls, or assisting the Volunteer Coordinator. Special Project volunteers offer their own unique talents, expertise, and gifts to our patients and families without committing to patient and family contact. No act of kindness is too big or too small. For example: making blankets or prayer shawls, youth group's making crafts or providing acts of service such as mowing a lawn, and Singing groups brightern up a patient's day.
