This year Carpenter Elementary is putting into practice “Cowboy Ethics, Be Somebody”.  This program has been developed by Jim Owens, the author of the book,” Cowboy Ethics.”  The program is designed to help teach values and character traits that can help make our students successful in their own personal lives as well as to be strong members in our community.

A large amount of current research has shown that life success depends less on I.Q. and native ability and more on qualities of personal character.  It is these character qualities that enable someone to pursue a long-term goal, persevere in the face of obstacles, and bounce back from a stumble or fall.
