About Us
The Chardon Local School District is located thirty miles east of Cleveland, Ohio, in scenic Geauga County. The county seat of Chardon, with its picturesque New England style town square, is situated in the center of the district. The district also serves Aquilla Village, Chardon and Hambden Townships, and portions of Munson and Claridon Townships. Enrollment is approximately 3,265 students in Grades K-12.

Rated an "Excellent" school district by the Ohio Department of Education, Chardon's middle school was recently designated a National "Blue Ribbon Award" school and two elementary buildings have been chosen Ohio "Hall of Fame" schools.

Individual student needs and strengths are addressed through a strong basic curriculum and Academically Talented Program at the elementary schools. The secondary level offers accelerated, honors and Advanced Placement courses, along with special education programs and a wide range of clubs, extra-curricular activities and interscholastic sports. High School students may also elect to attend vocational and tech-prep classes at Auburn Career Center.

Chardon Schools provide its citizens with a thriving community education program, facilities for sports and recreation programs and a strong, competitive educational program that enables our graduates to meet the demands and challenges of life and work in the 21st century.
