About Us:

THE MISSION of the New Testament church is to make disciples of Christ (Matthew 28:19-20).

Based upon the actions of the New Testament church, First Baptist must involve herself in five functions or purposes: Worship, Fellowship, Evangelism, Teaching, and Service (Acts 2:38-47).

WORSHIP is defined as ascribing worth to God. We worship individually and corporately. These two facets of worship are dependent on one another. We worship throughout the week on an individual basis and gather for corporate worship Sunday morning at 10:00 as well as Sunday evening at 6:00.

FELLOWSHIP consists of sharing life together. We strive to build community throughout the various services and ministries. Sunday School and mission opportunities serve as major components of fellowship-building.

EVANGELISM is sharing the good news of Jesus Christ. Evangelism focuses on sharing the saving message of the cross with those that do not know Him yet. Members are equipped to share their faith with others. Outreach events are evangelistically structured. All sermons contain an evangelistic appeal.

TEACHING biblical truths centers around the proclamation and absorption of God’s Word. Weekly, Sunday School provides the systematic intake of biblical instruction. Other small groups meeting during the week also fulfill this New Testament function.

SERVICE involves all of the church. The Lord desires all Christians to be involved in the ministry of service. First Baptist provides opportunities for Christians to discover their spiritual gifts and implement them. Laity and clergy must work together to serve others for the mission of God.
