About Us:

Chestnuthill Township was incorporated in September of 1763. It is a township of the second class; its population as of the 2000 census was 14,418. It has 36.5 square miles and 23,349 acres. There are 150 miles of township roads. The township is governed by a Board of Supervisors consisting of three members, all elected for six year terms, one term expiring every two years on December 31. The present board is: Chuck Gould, Chairman; Maureen Tatu, Vice Chairman; and Leigh Kane, Supervisor. Some of their responsibilities include making appropriations, adopting a budget, levying taxes, and adopting resolutions to make rules and regulations. The board solicitor is Joseph P. McDonald, Jr.
