History:

Christian Fellowship Congregational Church is one of the oldest Congregational Churches in continuous operation in the City of San Diego.
Founded as the Second Congregational Church, the church was organized on the second Sunday in November 1886, when Rev. A. B. White, of Toledo, Ohio began to preach in the schoolhouse on Twenty-seventh street. On February 19, 1888, the church building at Twenty-sixth street and Kerney Avenue was dedicated, Mr. Silcox preaching the sermon.
The Land & Town Company gave the lots and the members of the First Congregational Church contributed liberally to the building fund. Mr. White resigned the following August, and F. B. Perkins became the pastor. He remained two years and resigned in 1890. George A. Hall was then the pastor until March 24, 1895. His successor was R.T. Earl, who ministered until 1902, who was followed by Rev. E.E.P. Abbott.
In 1905 the name of the church was changed to Logan Heights Congregational Church. The Reverend Stephen G. Emerson was called as Pastor from the Lake Avenue Congregational Church, serving from 1908-1914. The Reverend F. C. Reid was called to serve as Pastor and served circa 1917.
In 1950 the name of the church was changed to the Christian Fellowship Congregational Community Church. In 1983 the name of the church was changed to the Christian Fellowship Congregational Church of San Diego, United Church of Christ
