Mission Statement

The mission of the Citrus Heights Chamber of Commerce is to promote and meet business needs, add value to its members, and enhance the quality of life within our community.

History

The Citrus Heights Chamber of Commerce was founded in 1958 by a group of visionary businessmen. Since those early days the Chamber of Commerce has grown into a major non-profit business association that addresses the needs of the business community. Prior to 1997, Citrus Heights was unincorporated. The leadership of the Chamber of Commerce led the effort to bring cityhood to Citrus Heights during a long, 12-year battle with the County of Sacramento. In November 1996, the Citrus Heights residents finally voted on the issue, and cityhood passed by a nearly 2/3 majority.

The Chamber of Commerce has five major areas of focus. They are Economic Development, Membership Development, Government Issues, Education and Fundraising. Each area is overseen by a vice president and is supported by one or more committees.

Within Economic Development, the Chamber partners with the City of Citrus Heights for business development and retention. This includes planning the annual Showcase Citrus Heights economic summit, the Shop Citrus Heights campaign, and Business Walk.

The Government Issues division meets monthly to monitor State legislation impacting business. The Chamber has played a role in support or opposition of key issues affecting the business community. Within the City, the Chamber works proactively and cooperatively to effect positive change for local businesses.

The Education committee is known for the strong programs it takes to the school campuses within Citrus Heights.

This Fundraising division oversees Chamber fundraising events and other Chamber community outreach programs.

Membership Development takes care of the needs of the Chamber members. The Ambassadors Club, a group of dedicated and existing business volunteers, calls on new and existing members and plans networking events. A primary goal of this division is insuring the value the Chamber brings to the membership.
