About Us:

The City of Johnsonville is located in the lower end of Florence County. The city was founded in 1913. Johnsonville is centrally located close to it all but far away from the hustle and bustle of big city traffic. Many major cities are located less than an hour drive including Florence and Myrtle Beach.

The City of Johnsonville is home to Wellman Industries (the cities largest employer) as well as several other electrical, mechanical, and other small business. The city is proud that it has one of the best academic school districts within the region and state, Florence County School District Five, which houses our elementary, middle, and high school.

The historical significance of Johnsonville is a timeless artifact, it includes stomping ground of General Francis Marion "The Swamp Fox" during the Revolutionary War, and is also home to the oldest Cyprus Wood Logs found to date.
