City Of Linden

132 E. Broad Street
810-735-7980

The historic Linden Mill (picture, upper right) was built in 1871 on the bank of the Shiawassee River and represents the early milling industry of the City. The Mill currently houses the City Council Chambers, the Linden branch of the Genesee District Library, and a local museum.

Linden's 2005 U.S. Census population is 3,603 people. Several new developments are adding more homes. Linden has retained the small community feeling that has been lost in other communities as a result of growth. The downtown boasts several small shops and several restaurants, ranging from casual fare to upscale dining. Free summer concerts (Music by the Mill) and outdoor movies (Movies by the Mill) at the City's gazebo attract hundreds of spectators each year. Other notable annual events include a Memorial Day parade and picnic to honor veterans, a Summer Happening (June), the Linden Marketplace (August and September), and a Holiday Happening (December).
