The mission of the Environmental Health Program is to promote and protect the health and safety of all persons that reside in or visit the City of Cleveland.

About Us :
The Cleveland Department of Public Health (CDPH) works to ensure the health and well-being of Cleveland residents by providing health promotion information and education, primary care services including immunizations, substance abuse treatment and counseling programs, regulation of air quality, lead poisoning prevention programs, environmental inspections, and complaint investigations.

CDPH plans to ensure a high quality of resources and services through various partnerships in the greater Cleveland community. For example, CDPH has initiated and maintained working relationships with Case Western Reserve University, Metro Health Medical Center, Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Cuyahoga County Board of Health, Lakewood and Shaker Health Departments, the Federation for Community Planning and others. These partnerships provide the cornerstone of successful preventative public health care services to meet the needs of the residents of the City of Cleveland and throughout the community.

CDPH is committed to improving the quality of life in the City of Cleveland by promoting healthy behavior, protecting the environment, preventing disease, and making the City a healthy place to live, work, and play.

The City's Health Department provides free health care and screening services including:
- Lead screening
- Childhood immunizations
- Flu and pneumonia vaccinations for adults
- Blood pressure screening
- Cholesterol screening
