Community Bible Fellowship

2853 East Curry Lane
620-886-9805

Community Bible Fellowship came into existence as a result of a gathering of concerned Christians in July of 1987. Approximately 30 people expressed their concern with the lack of an evangelical, grace-oriented church in Medicine Lodge. Feeling that there was an unmet need for Bible teaching and biblical worship in this community, they began meeting in the basement of John Clarke's home. A few months later the name Community Bible Fellowship was adopted, and the church rented the old Grand Hotel as its meeting place.

In the spring of 1990, CBF purchased property 1.25 miles east of Medicine Lodge. But on June 10th at the church property, CBF's parsonage and newly remodeled worship area burned. CBF continued to meet at the Grand until April 1991, and then moved to the Christian Church in Sharon. On June 21, 1992, CBF began meeting in the basement of a new permanent church structure on the property east of Medicine Lodge. In late 1999 CBF began work on the top floor of its church building and worshiped there for the first time April 30, 2000.

In December 2003 the office building was remodeled to give the youth a larger meeting room. In early 2006 work began on a building downtown to be used as a teen center and an even larger youth meeting room. Reality Check met in the teen center for the first time May 24, 2006, and open house was held June 1, 2, and 3. The final work was completed during the summer and the official grand opening was Aug. 13, 2006.
