During evenings and weekends, The Capital Area Human Services District provides clinical on-call staff to help individuals access appropriate emergency or crisis care when the community mental health center is not open. On-call staff may be accessed by calling the hotline numbers listed above, or through area emergency rooms. Where hospitalization is indicated as appropriate, the on-call staff will arrange for hospitalization in a state facility. In those instances where hospitalization does not seem necessary, the on-call person will make interim recommendations and then arrange for the individual to be seen at the mental health center the next business day.
