Our Yulee township through the years have memories of the Yulee Volunteer Fire Department bring Santa riding on a firetruck  Sherriffs Departmenelights and sirens running travelling through our neighborhoods the Saturday before Christmas with lights and sirens running though our neighborhoods the Saturday before Christmas,handing out bags of goodies. A few years ago the Yulee FireDepartment dismantled and this tradition was lost.

Last year a group of us decided it was time to bring this tradition back. With access to a privately owned firetruck and amazing volunteers of business and private citizens,retired and active firemen we brought Santa to the Yulee Christmas parade.

As newbies and with only one firetruck we reached out to 7 churches,Walmart and AMC theatre to have a Santa Stop and Drop the Saturday before Christmas. We wanted to reach as many children in Yulee as possible. Our volunteers including the Yulee High School Beta Club stuffed 3,000 bags loaded the on the firetruck and our catch trucks. We posted our route in the newspaper, church bulletins and facebook. The Nassau County Sheriffs department provided us escort which was thrilling because we got to go through red lights. Our Nassau County Fire and Rescue brought trucks to our stops so the children got to meet our amazing men and women in blue and explore our county trucks.

Our mission this year is to reach at least 5,000 more Yulee children.
