About Us:

Cygnus Creative Arts Centre is a non-profit regional arts organization offering exceptional instruction in dance, visual arts, music and theater at an affordable price. Our programs provide a complete study of the visual and performing arts for all ages and levels of experience. Our impressive faculty is comprised of highly trained artists who have their Bachelor and Masters degrees in the arts and have worked professionally all over the world.

History:

On 1992, Cygnus was born from a concept developed by Maryann Cannon and Cynthia M. Domino to create a total arts school in the former McKee City School building in Egg Harbor Township. Their perseverance, resourcefulness, dedication and sweat equity transformed the school into a facility that met the Township’s needs.

After a year of development, Cygnus was incorporated as a nonprofit corporation on August 6, 1993. For the next 12 years, Cygnus continued to grow offering instruction in dance, art, drama, music, healing arts and martial arts.

Under Artistic Director, Cynthia M. Domino the school outgrew its original home. In 2005, The Township of Egg Harbor invited Cygnus to be part of the proposed Township Community Center. In June 2008, Cygnus Creative Arts Centre moved into its new home. This building houses traditional and new classes, performances, workshops, and art shows. Cygnus continues to strive for quality artistry.
