Dale City Elementary, opened in 1967, was the first school to open in Dale City. An addition to the school was completed in the spring of 2001. This year, Dale City Elementary School dedicated its library to the late Karen Lipinski, a long-time teacher at the school. The Lipinski Library was dedicated on November 16, 2002.

Dale City Elementary School serves students from the Ashdale and Birchdale communities and a portion of the Forestdale neighborhood.
