In 1961, Jane Morrow Spain opened the doors of Morrow School of Dance. Morrow School of Dance was the first dance studio in the Broomfield Community and was often referred to as, "The Little Red Dance School House on the Hill".

In the 60's and 70's, as the Broomfield community grew, the studio expanded. In 1983, Heidi Thomas, a former student of Jane Spain, purchased the studio. Just as Broomfield has evolved into a premier county recognized for its cultural opportunities, Heidi Thomas had a vision of a premier community-based dance studio. That vision became Dance Arts Studio (DAS).

The studio is now run by a highly qualified board of directors, with Heidi Thomas as the Artistic Director and Jane Spain serving as a board member and community representative. The studio has built upon its forty year tradition in Broomfield, offering classes in Tap, Ballet, Pointe, Modern Jazz, Hip Hop, Modern Dance, Jazz and Pilates. Each member of the professional staff holds a Bachelors degree in one of the following areas: Dance Education, Choreography or Performing Arts.
