History :

Although Eagle Point Community Bible Church was officially organized by name in 1944, the history of the congregation goes back to 1893 when the Taylor family moved to Eagle Point and started a Sunday School in a one room log school house. In 1906, a building was completed in its current location and a Baptist Church was organized.

Starting in 1915, a series of ministers filled the pulpit for various terms until 1926 when the church organized as a Presbyterian congregation. In 1944, upon the resignation of the pastor, the church voted to organize as a Community Bible Church.

The church has experienced various phases of growth and expansion over the decades. The original auditorium once lay in the opposite direction of how it stands now. A fellowship hall and kitchen were added in the early 90's, the auditorium was expanded, and various improvements have been made, including a terrific Media Center, fully renovated Nursery and Youth Room, and a revamped sound system with projection system. Ironically, as a reminder of the rich heritage of this congregation, a small, round indentation remains above the auditorium stage--the last vestige of the pot-bellied stove that used to warm the church on
