East Montgomery Elementary School

230 McAdoo Creek Road
931-358-2868

Mission Statement:

The mission of East Montgomery Elementary School and community is to provide experiences to educate and empower our students to reach their full potential.

East Montgomery Elementary School was formed by the closing of the following elementary schools: Fredonia, Pisgah, Roosevelt, and (Old) Sango. It opened in the fall of 1970 joining these communities, facilities, and student bodies. The school is located on twenty acres of the original William Redding Farm on McAdoo Creek Road in the Sango community. The name for the school was selected for its location in the southeast side of Montgomery County. It was the first elementary school in Montgomery County to feature the open space concept.

Two major construction projects have been completed. In 1991, a new gymnasium was completed while converting the old facility into a cafeteria. Then, in the fall of 2002, construction added 22,000 square feet to the complex. This addition included thirteen classrooms, a science lab, and a new library.
