If it were just based on the animals and exhibits, I'd only give it 2-3 stars. But they are building new stuff all the time, and it looks like they're trying to update and upgrade. Plus the kids enjoy the new play area and always love the train ride. For a small town zoo, it's good. Maybe in the future it will get better exhibits/animals to match.

The Erie zoo has came a long way. It stays true to the paying guests. The exhibits are always placed with great viewing spots. I live here and still enjoy coming here. It continues to keep better itself. With constant renovations, though, never hindering the enjoyment for visitors. Every exhibit has detailed information on each animal. Such as, its habits, living zones, what they eat, and more. Anyone who hasent been here, I highly recommend them to. They have more than just animals here as well. They have a green house with different plants. The price to enter is more than fair. The gift shop is priced decently, compared to others Ive been to.

I love this place! I have been there a number of times and I like it because they have a nice variety of animals, but is not so big that I need all day. During the early spring when it's still cool not all of the animals were outside, but other animals were more active. The train and carousel are fun but you need to purchase tickets at the front gate. I spent about 2 hours there this visit but in the summer I would be there a little longer since I like to watch all of the animals. This would be a great size Zoo for families with small kids, there is plenty to see but not exhausting. I saw a tiger, giraffe, rhino, warthog, African painted dogs, penguins, lions, oranganatan family, kangaroo, frogs (a new exhibit), and other animals! It was lots of fun. If you are in the area and have some time, please support this Zoo!

Great small zoo. Always enjoyable and educational. The new outdoor lion exhibit allows you to get up close and personal. Don't miss the greenhouse for a nice warm up on a cold day and beautiful exotic plants

Most of the animals are gone. The animals that are there are depressed. The exhibits are tiny and there isn't much to see. I suggest visiting a better zoo where the animals are actually cared for and happy because you won't see that here. No elephants, camels, 1 giraffe that's stressed out. No marine life. No bears, no male lion. And the parks itself is neglected. The landscaping is non existant and I'll maintained as well.
