Mission:

A mission statement is really not supposed to be that complicated. It's simply a sentence that describes the purpose and intentions of the organization. Hospitals, corporations, even teams have them now. It helps the organization to focus and crystalize in their minds what it is they are there to do. Jesus had a mission statement- it was to 'seek and to save that which was lost.' FCC's is: 'to lift up Jesus Christ, equip His people, and mobilize them to reach the unchurched.' Everything we do gets filtered through that sentence.

Vision:

A vision statement goes on to say what the end product would look like. Jesus' vision statement, you could say, is seen in John 17- that we might be one as He and the Father were, that the world would see that love and truth in us as we reflect Christ in us, and that we would stick together.' And Jesus is using the church, His team, to make that vision come true on earth. FCC's vision MUST fit in with the vision of Jesus, our Head.
