About Us:

Nestled in the picturesque rolling hills of the Cumberland Plateau there is a group of wonderful people called First Baptist Church of Sparta TN. For more than 80 years the membership of First Baptist has been active in sharing Christ and reaching out to White County and the world. From its beginning with 21 charter members meeting in a vacant room above M&H Hardware store in 1929 to the move to North Spring Street in Sparta in 1963, this congregation has been a growing and loving place to be.

Over the past few years the church has been growing in size, but more importantly we have been growing in Christ. Through our commitment to Biblical teaching in our Sunday School classes and from the pulpit, to discipleship groups, ministry teams, and mission involvement we have a place for you to grow also.
