Our Mission

Our Mission is to fulfill the great commission: Matthew 28:19, Mark 16:15-16, and Acts 2:38. Therefore, our mission is to go into all the world and present the gospel of Jesus Christ to every person through preaching, teaching and living the Word of God. In the process, we will provide exceptional service in ministering to people's total needs spiritually and naturally.

What We Believe

We believe, as the Apostle Peter preached on the Day of Pentecost (Acts 2:38), that the new birth (the "born-again" experience) includes genuine repentance, water baptism in the name of Jesus Christ and the baptism of the Holy Ghost, evidenced by speaking in other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance. (Acts 2:4)

We believe that there is one God in the mystery of the Godhead as recorded in I Timothy 3:16 and St. John 1:1-5;14: Jesus was both human and divine, and further, that Jesus was God manifested in the flesh, the Eternal Father made visible.

We believe that our purpose in life is to love God totally and love others as ourselves.

History

First Pentecostal Church of Phoenix, Arizona, founded in August 1947 by Bishop AC and Mother Lelar Mae (Robinson) Eddings, exists for the honor and glory of the one true God, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. The vision of the church has been "Winning and Keeping Souls for JESUS CHRIST!" Further, since its inception, the church has been a member of the Mountain States Council, the 15th Episcopal District of the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World, Inc. Historically, guidelines for the church have been founded on the Holy Bible and the leading of the Holy Spirit.

In addition to the founders, the first pioneer participants included their family: William, his wife, Mildred (Lee), Prince, Juanita (Enoch), Marie Joyce (Price), Alfred and David Eddings. The purpose of this succinct history is to disclose how the founders, the church structure and the current pastoral leadership evolved.
