First United Church of Christ of Quakertown

151 South Fourth Street
215-536-4447

The congregation's history reaches back to 1856, as part of the First German Reformed Church. The congregation worshiped at the church near Fifth and Broad Streets. Our current facility was built in 1963 and is located at Fourth and Park Avenue in Quakertown.

First United Church of Christ has always been committed to Christian education. The church school started in 1874 and Sunday School classes are still held every Sunday during the school year for all ages. The church supports a youth program as well: KidsKlub for 3rd - 5th graders and "YG" Youth Group for 6th - 12 graders. A Vacation Bible School program started up in 1942 and continues annually.

The music program has always been prominent in the life of this church family, currently featuring five vocal choirs, four handell choirs and a chime choir. Additionally, missions and outreach are important parts of the life of youth and adults of this congregation. Domestic mission trips began in 1994, and foreign mission trips to Latin America began in 2000. An adult mission trip to Biloxi is being planned for Spring of 2009 and the youth are planning a trip for this summer.
