Statement of Purpose:

We, the people of the First United Methodist Church of Scotch Plains, are a community of God's people bound together for the mission of making disciples for Jesus Christ. We do this through Worship, Christian Education, Spiritual Growth and Fellowship.

The dynamic power of our church is the Spirit of the Living Lord. We trust His guidance both personally and in fellowship. It is our purpose to answer God's call to ministry and mission in the Spirit of Jesus Christ by sharing God's Love with others. We serve Christ as Lord through our nurturing of each other, our outreach mission work, and our witness to His Holy Power.
