Fort Dobbs State Historic Site

438 Fort Dobbs Road
704-873-5882

Fort Dobbs is the only State Historic Site in North Carolina associated with the French and Indian War; a conflict which pitted the colonies of England and France against each other as they and their American Indian allies struggled to control North America from 1754-1763.

The historic site preserves the archaeological remains of the only fort constructed on the NC frontier.  Daily tours of the site are available and several living history programs are held throughout the year.  Plans are underway to reconstruct the three-story log blockhouse.
