About Us:

There is a recent trend in education circles that encourages making large schools into small schools. Money is available to large schools to redesign themselves in such a way that creates smaller schools within existing larger ones. In other words, they are given large sums of money to create what we already have here in Glenwood.

I am often asked why I live and work in Glenwood. My answer is always the same; I reply,"heart." Our schools and community have an abundance of this intangible character of heart. People care for you and about you. I can honestly say that I know all of the students in grades K-12 who attend the Glenwood School by their names. I can say the same about most of their parents. I can tell at-a-glance if a student is having a good or bad day and I usually know why. The students seem to have the same ability with me.

Our class sizes are small and the instruction our students receive is individualized. Our teachers are invested in our students´ success. Failure is truly not an option. Teachers take it personally when students do not live up to their potential. Therefore, they work very hard to help students achieve excellence.

Research shows that smaller is better when it comes to education. We did not need research to tell us that. A walk through the hallways of our schools is all the research one needs to see the small school advantage.
