Good Shepherd Evangelical Lutheran Church was formed in 1977 in Holmen, Wisconsin. Starting off meeting in a bank basement, the congregation has grown and recently opened a new 9,000 square foot facility including a spacious food and fellowship hall, full kitchen facilites, six Bible education rooms and a modern sanctuary that can seat about 300. Today, Good Shepherd is staffed by one full-time pastor and also supports a Christian pre-school (Little Lamb Preschool) with one certified preschool teacher. The congregation is a member of the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS).

The 66 books of the Bible are the inspired and inerrant Word of God, giving to human beings all that they need to know about eternal life and faith.

The one true God is the triune God. That is, there exists only one God, who consists of the three distinct and coequal persons of God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. Therefore, we believe and teach that God the Father is fully God, God the Son is fully God, and God the Holy Spirit is fully God. However, we do not believe and teach that there are three gods, but only one God.

The central teaching of the Bible is that God graciously promised, and fulfilled his promise of sending all people a Savior from sin in the person of Jesus Christ, whose perfect life and innocent death earned forgiveness for all people.

God extends the saving merits of Jesus Christ to human beings through faith. Faith is worked in human beings by God the Holy Spirit, through the means of the Gospel in Word and Sacrament.
