Guardian Angel Cathedral

302 Cathedral Way
702-735-5241

Welcome to Guardian Angel Cathedral. Unique for not only its world renowned windows, mosaics, murals, and stunning architectural design, but also in its origin and history.

Guardian Angel Cathedral’s beginnings go back to 1958 when Priests of St. Viator began celebrating a 4:30 AM Sunday Mass in various hotels and casinos along the world famous Las Vegas “Strip” to accommodate both tourists and employees along the strip. The present church became a reality in 1964 as Guardian Angel Shrine.

When the Diocese of Reno was renamed the Diocese of Reno-Las Vegas in 1977, the shrine was elevated to co-cathedral status in Nevada.

In 1995, when the Diocese of Las Vegas was established, Guardian Angel Cathedral was named the Cathedral of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Las Vegas.
