Beautiful clean beach. I'm come here often and I'm always surprised that it's never crowded. I prefer that for myself! There is a designated swim area for kids near the playground. For privacy and quiet I park in area 4 or 5 and walk to the water. It is a carry in and carry out park so make sure to clear out your own trash. Highly recommend this beach to enjoy Lake Ontario.

I would vote Hamlin beach for the 2018 best beach in New York State for camping and beach activities. Very quiet and clean and fresh for multiple days camping. Water is so fresh blue clean. Long beach with clean sands and several spots for beach volleyball. Good thing they just fix the Park way from Rochester toward Hamlin. Excellent experiences here!

The water was beautiful, and the park itself was a wonderful area to see the lake. I was only there for a short while, but I would have loved to spend more time. I stepped in the water just to my ankles and the water felt amazing. Worth the stop just to see the lake up close.

Nice park. We had a nice site which was well shaded and spacious. Beach area is great. Lots of room to play. Lots of shady areas to have family picnics. They have barbeques there, just bring your own charcoal. Rules at the beach were a bit strict. Also we went early July and the water was still very cold. Bathrooms were not cleaned enough. Would've given 5 stars except for this.

Best lakefront beach access in Rochester, bar none. Other beaches we visited had mucky water and unclean beaches. Hamlin was much, much better. Playgrounds were great, especially beyond area 1. Can get a bit busy during summer weekends, but there’s always space on the beach. Lake turnover happens every so often, so there’s no guarantee the water will be warm no matter how hot it is outside.
