Handcrafters and Artisans Alliance

P.O. Box 1819

The Handcrafters & Artisans Alliance (HAA) was established in 1999 (formerly the Oahu Products Council) to provide a voice for Hawaii's producers of arts & handcrafts. At that time, the City & County of Honolulu faced legal problems concerning the use of Kapiolani Park for craft fairs, which eventually resulted in the revocation of all craft fair permits for the park. This was a financial loss to those in our industry who exhibited at the park. The Alliance lobbied and addressed this issue with a unified voice. Through our efforts, Kapiolani Park is once again open for craft fairs and festivals which sell Hawaii-made crafts.

HAA works to expand marketing opportunities for our members in the local and tourist markets. We have formed liaisons with the Honolulu Festival, Pan Pacific Festival and the Aloha Festivals to provide additional markets for our membership. We represent our membership in workshops and presentations offered by governmental agencies which provide information and financing that can aid our individual members. We also hope to offer workshops for our membership to aid in the prosperity of their businesses and further their growth. We invite you to join us and take an active role in our industry's future!
