Harbor Beach Lions Club

Al's Restaurant, Huron Avenue

About Us:

Since 1917, Lions have served the world's population through hard work and commitment to make a difference in the lives of people everywhere. With 1.4 million members serving in more than 44,500 clubs in over 186 countries and geographical areas, Lions Clubs International is the world's largest service club organization. Lions are recognized worldwide for their service to the blind and visually impaired.

In 1925, Helen Keller addressed the Lions International Convention and challenged them to be "Knights of the Blind". Since then, service to the blind and the visually impaired has become one of our most significant activities. That crusade resulted in a global sight conservation program called "Sight First".

Lions also participate in service activities such as diabetes awareness, education and research, work with physically and mentally challenged, environmental issues, community welfare, international understanding, and youth.

The Harbor Beach Lions Club was awarded their charter from Lions International November 11, 1938, and quickly sprang forth as a pillar of community volunteerism. We are a diversified pride of individuals, both men and women, seeking to improve the quality of life for those in need. We continually endeavor to meet the needs of visually and hearing impaired in the community.

Currently, we have over 52 members in our club. Each member brings their own special talents and abilities to the table for the betterment of our community. We invite you to surf through the members pages and learn more about those whom make up the backbone of The Harbor Beach Lions Club.
