Harmony Ridge Farm
Harmony Ridge Farms is an organic vegetable farm set in the rolling hills of Tobaccoville, NC. We aim to connect community by providing a source for local, nutritious food, to share the wisdom of responsible stewardship and to spread the joy of growing with nature. 2010 has marked the first year of our CSA (or farm co-op). Owing to the success of our flagship program, we are increasing our membership in 2011 and invite anyone interested in receiving a healthy dose of weekly produce to contact me to sign up. We are now accepting enrollment for our 2011 season! In addition to providing a diverse range of vegetables and herbs, we will host farm gatherings, offer hands-on education and provide weekly recipes.
Our CSA program is the heart of Harmony Ridge. Foremost is the quality and variety of the food we produce. We select varieties not for shelf life and uniformity, because we don't have to. Most every vegetable we grow moves from the field to a customer's hands within a single day.
Spring and early summer harvest includes a diverse array of gourmet lettuces, mesclun mix, arugula, spinach, assorted greens, snap peas, broccoli, cabbage, kale, radishes, sugar beets, spring onions, carrots and culinary herbs. In summer we provide a cornucopia of heirloom and cherry tomatoes, sweet corn, peppers, onions, potatoes, melons, summer squash, cucumbers, chard, copious basil, fennel, assorted shell and green beans, garlic and we continue to supply carrots, beets and cabbage into mid-summer. Late summer brings much of the same in addition to sweet potatoes, eggplant, radishes and arugula.
A plus membership entitles you to all the great veggies and herbs grown at Harmony Ridge in addition to locally sourced, seasonal and sustainably produced berries, fruits and honey along with occasional cheeses and breads and weekly eggs.
