Mission Statement

We believe that God has clearly called this church to fulfill a specific purpose for His glory.

Our logo expresses this mission in three ideas:

Loving God...Loving People...Making Disciples

Loving God

Jesus summarized the teaching of the scriptures in what we know as The Great Commandments:

Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment.

God commands us to love Him completely with all our being. Our mission, then, includes teaching and encouraging one another to love God in meaningful ways. In our worship services we turn our hearts, souls, and minds toward God, adoring His divine attributes and acknowledging our need for Him.

Loving People

Jesus stated the second Great Commandment as:

Love your neighbor as yourself. All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.

God also commands us to love others in the same way that we love ourselves, seeking their well being and helping to meet their needs. Our mission includes teaching and encouraging one another to demonstrate the love of Christ in daily life. Our small groups give people the opportunity to deepen relationships with one another and to learn and grow together in community. An active mercy ministry shows love to those in need, both within and outside the church, through practical acts of service and assistance.

Making Disciples

At the end of His earthly ministry Jesus gave His followers an ongoing purpose that we know as The Great Commission:

All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.

Our mission, therefore, includes teaching and encouraging one another to reach out to those who would seek to know God, to share our faith through our words as well as through the way we live our lives, and to help one another grow in the faith. We desire to see the transforming power of the Good News of Jesus Christ reach our congregation, our homes, our community, our country, and all the nations of the world through our individual relationships as well as our church activities.
