Hayden Elementary School provides a quality education to the Midway City and Westminster communities. Our staff is experienced and dedicated to providing every child with the best of educational opportunities. Hayden Elementary School has been chosen for three years in a row as a Title I Achieving School. Hayden was named a National Blue Ribbon school for the 2005-06 school year. As one of four schools in Orange County, we proudly accepted this award for student achievement. We have many specifically funded programs that supplement our basic school curriculum.

We realize the importance of developing in each child an attitude of self-respect and self-worth, and strive to provide a school climate that is conducive to positive personal growth, as well as strong academic success. Our growth in standardized assessments has exceeded state and district scores for the past five years. Our Academic Performance Index (API) has grown 180 points since 1999. Hayden Elementary School currently has the highest API score in the district.

We feel that the surrounding community, and especially the parents of our students, are important partners in the job of educating all Hayden children. We are intent on expanding our school and community programs during and outside of school hours, thus building on our strong reputation as a full-service community school.

We seek to instill within the Hayden community a sense of responsibility, citizenship, pride, accomplishment, and a positive self-image.

All members of the Hayden School community will develop literacy skills across the curriculum that will enable them to become lifelong learners and self-sufficient, contributing members of a global society.
