Hazlet Township First Aid & Rescue Squad

Hazlet Township First Aid & Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 162
732-264-7460

The Hazlet Township First Aid and Rescue Squad is a volunteer, non-profit organization which provides emergency medical and rescue services for Hazlet Township, New Jersey (map). Hazlet Township is approximately 5 square miles, primarily suburban, and has a population of about 22,000. Since the squad was founded in 1946, we have been actively:
Responding to medical emergencies 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
Providing search, rescue and extrication services whenever needed
Contributing to the community through fundraising and awareness programs

First Aid members are notified via special pagers of emergencies by Hazlet Township Police dispatchers, who receive 911 and other calls for help. On-call members then drive to one of our two stations using their personal vehicles (please yield to blue lights!). Upon arrival at the station, members respond to the scene with an ambulance or other appropriate apparatus. After assessing and treating priority conditions, we transport the patient to the best-suited medical facility, often either Bayshore Community Hospital or Riverview Medical Center. There is no fee for our services. Advanced life support (needed in certain situations), provided by MONOC Paramedics, is billed to your insurance company. Even in these situations, transportation is often provided by the squad without any charge.
