Heartland Hospice is in need of caring companions for our patients.

Our volunteers sit with hospice patients in either their home, nursing homes, or wherever they call home.  Volunteers generally volunteer 1-4 times a month depending on how often they want to volunteer.  You decide how often it works for you.   I will match you up with a patient that is in your local area and that needs a volunteer in a time frame which works for both of you.  Most times it is just a friendly visit in which you may visit with patient or family, read to them, watch TV or just be there by their side.  The visit may be as little as 15 minutes depending on your time and the patient need.  There will be no "hands-on" work with the patient.

We do require approximately 12-16 hours of free training which is done in our office or wherever is convenient for you.   We can divide this over 2-3 days/nights and try to accommodate the schedule that works for new volunteers being trained.  I plan to have a
