Mission Statement:

The unified mission of the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), Hematite, Missouri, a congregational governed body, is to fulfill God's plan and glorify Jesus Christ as revealed in the New Testament. It shall also provide, promote and maintain a place and a spirit to strengthen the Word of Christ by sharing his profound joy with God's children of all ages. We shall reach out in the spirit of cooperation and commitment by encouraging congregational unity, righteous thought, individual involvement, active prayer, and Christ centered worship. We will sustain and be sustained by the community and like-minded organizations in a manner that will work for the unity of all Christians and with them engage in the common task of building God's kingdom. We affirm never to cease leading the way for those on their Christian journey and preparing all God's children for his return by our witness and through our actions.
