The Mission of the Hershey - Derry Township Historical Society shall be dedicated to the preservation, restoration, appreciation and education of the historical heritage of Hershey and Derry Township, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania.
The Hershey - Derry Township Historical Society was formed in September 1991 to meet a need of residents and visitors for accessible historical information.
Thanks to the continuing contributions of local residents, the Society's ever-growing collection is a unique blend of past and present artifacts. This allows us to create and maintain a thorough visual history.

Our Oral History Program, in which local residents and Hershey Foods employees transcribe their vivid memories, is of particular interest. By personalizing the township's history, we preserve a piece of the past that might otherwise be lost. We are grateful to those residents who have taken the time to share their recollections. We invite those who wish to contribute to this project to contact the Society.
Other projects include extensive obituary and family history file, genealogy, cemeteries, historical sites and preservation.
