Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church

The congregation at Long Valley, New Jersey traces its beginnings to the fall of 1983.  It was then that the first worship service was held at the Roxbury Fire Hall in Succasunna, where 45 people met.  Though a fire whistle at times interrupted the worship services, there was no interruption in the desire to plant a WELS church in the community! The congregation worshipped in the firehouse for eight years as they looked for a location to build a solid and long-lasting foundation based on the loving word of our Savior, Jesus Christ.

To encourage adult members and to give greater opportunity for study and growth in the Word, midweek opportunities for group Bible study have been added in addition to the Sunday morning schedule.  Fellowship and service opportunities have also brought the congregation together to encourage one another and to serve the community around them.   The congregation has worked to strengthen what it has to reach beyond itself with the life-giving Gospel of Christ.

Through the years the Lord has blessed the congregation of believers at Immanuel.  May the light of His Word continue to shine to them in Christ and through them to many others--all for Jesus' sake!
