Purpose/Mission Statement:

The Purpose/Mission of Inglewood Cultural Arts is to enhance the quality of life through our diverse programs which include individuals of all ages, ethnicities and economic status. These programs serve to meet the need of:

Raising people's awareness of the arts, both as an essential human endeavor and through the artworks both old and new in our community

Encourage all people, with a specific focus on youth, to engage in the creation of art which expresses their own emotions, ideas, aesthetics

Infuse the arts into all facets of Inglewood society

ICA is a grassroots organization that grew out of two years of the city of Inglewood's Cultural Task Force meetings. Recommendations of this group were published in the Inglewood Cultural Master Plan and adopted by City Council in 1997. ICA has used this plan as a guide to structure its programming in order to best serve the cultural needs of this community. While we have consistently worked closely with the city of Inglewood since our inception, we are an independent nonprofit 501c3 entity.
