Jordan Presbyterian Church

3671 Old Bingham Highway
801-280-6778

Vision:

I envision a church in the Jordans that is fully convinced that God accepts and forgives sinners due to the death of Christ on the cross for us, and our faith in that act alone. It is a vision of a church that attracts and seeks out others because we enjoy God and therefore live for His glory and not our own.

Therefore, I envision a congregation of people who love one another, are accepting of those outside, inviting them to come as you are to Christ; encouraging and enabling each person to move to a greater understanding of our Lord through diligent study of the Bible, honest confession of sin and humble prayer. My vision is that of a church focused on people's relationship to God and not on appearances.

And my vision continues beyond the Jordans; that through generosity of time, talent, money and spiritual gifts Jordan Presbyterian would expand its influence through further church-planting in Utah, the broader United States and the World. In summary, my vision is and has always been that the greatest numbers of people possible could know the truth about Jesus Christ and submit themselves to Him. I have dedicated my life to it.

Our Belief:

We believe that the Bible is the inspired, infallible, inerrant and complete Word of God, and is our ultimate authority concerning what to believe and how to live. (2Timothy 3:15-16, Galatians 1:6-12)

We believe that God exists in three persons from all eternity, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. These three are one God, yet distinct from one another. (Genesis 1:1-3, John 1:1-18, Matthew 3:16-17, Matthew 28:19)

We believe that, at the appropriate time, God the Son became a man (Jesus Christ), in order to save God's people for His own glory and our good. (John 1:14, Galatians 4:4-5)

We believe that the Holy Spirit dwells in the hearts of all who trust Christ alone for their salvation and that He enables us to believe the promises of God and live for Him. (Galatians 4:6-7, Galatians 3:2-5, John 16:5-7)

We believe that man was created in the spiritual image of God to bring glory to God by enjoying Him forever, but that this fellowship has been broken through man's disobedience. Jesus Christ came to restore this relationship between God and man by living the perfect life that no man can live, dying in our place on a cross and rising from the dead so that we can once again enjoy God today and forever. (Genesis 1:26-27, Genesis 3:1-7, Romans 3:20-22, 2Corinth- ians 5:17-18, Hebrews 9:28)

We believe that Heaven is a free gift to those who believe and that it is not earned or deserved but is available to anyone who will trust only what Christ has done for them. (Romans 6:23, Ephesians 2:8-10)

We believe that all who know Christ, as He is revealed in the Bible alone, are brothers and sisters joined together by the Holy Spirit and are to live in unity and peace. (1Corinthians 12:12-13, Galatians 3:2-5)

We believe that Jesus will return, bodily and visibly, to judge all mankind and to receive His people to Himself. (1Thessalonians 4:16-18, Hebrews 9:27, Daniel 7:13-14 and Revelation 1:12-18)

We believe that the purpose for which Christians gather is to worship God, who through Christ has demonstrated His love for us and through His Spirit has made this known to us.
