We are a community based comprehensive school. It is our mission to foster academic, social, and physical needs commensurate with an emerging adult. Therefore, we are committed to providing a diverse educational program to facilitate student development. It is our responsibility to create an environment where learning is valued as a continuous process as we live up to our school motto, A Collaborative Community of Learners.

Kent Island High School believes that discipline is learned and can be taught in the home, school, and community. Discipline is a developmental process and, at the high school level, all students should be given every opportunity to practice self-discipline. In order to accomplish this, all faculty and staff will seek to help students adjust to varied situations by working with students individually or in small groups outside of class time. We hope that our efforts will help students internalize a sense of self-discipline.
