KidsWork Children's Museum

11 South White Street

The KidsWork Children's Museum (KCM) is a cultural institution that brings children, families, and the community together to engage in fun, hands-on interactive play so as to nurture life-long learning and discovery.

The building of a children's museum is an enormous undertaking and will need the entire community's support. The KCM board, comprised of area parents, educators and business leaders, was formed in April 2007 with the goal of creating a Children's Museum in the Downtown Historic Frankfort Business District. The KCM is a non-profit 501c3 organization that has recently secured a retail space at the Trolley Barn at 11 S.White Street. This location is in the beautiful downtown historic district. The 6,700 square foot space is ideal for the KCM to fill with program rooms and exhibits and is an excellent start for the KCM to fulfill its mission to create an interactive learning opportunity for all of our children.

The KCM is Will County's first Children's Museum, leading the way for cultural and educational opportunities for families throughout our area. Over 30% of today's Children's Museums have been created as Downtown Revitalization Projects. It is our belief that the KCM is a much needed anchor for our downtown district and businesses throughout the area.

I think this is a great place to spend an hour or 2! My son is 6, he's a little too old for this place now, but my 10 month old had a blast in the baby area. It's a small museum and it's great for the locals, but I wouldn't drive too far out of my way for this place.

Cute place for the kids to run around and play. Our kids loved the bone digging area and the fire station. While this place is a bit smaller than some of the other children’s museums, our kids still seemed to enjoy themselves a lot.

Loved going here with my granddaughter! So many things to do. My only concern in the upstairs area is that kids can open the door themselves and head down the stairs. Many of the moms there were juggling more than one child and everyone knows how fast little ones can be. There was a child about three who opened the door and headed out, followed by a toddler and my two year old granddaughter. Like I said, they are very fast! I was able to round up all three and get them back into the play area with no additional issues. This problem could be solved by putting a child safety latch on the door higher than those little people can reach. I enjoyed our visit very much and can't wait to go again!

I attended a children’s birthday party here, it seemed like a nice place. The kids had fun, my only complaint would be the time management aspect from the employees. I felt like they were rushing us out before our allotted time was up. Otherwise it was a positive experience.

A great local place to bring kids for a day of fun. Staff is freindly and they keep the place clean.
