Lake Anna Winery

5621 Courthouse Road

Open: Year Round

The story of Lake Anna Winery began on a business trip to France in 1981. While traveling through the French countryside, Bill Heidig noticed that the climate and soil conditions of certain grape-growing regions were similar to those on his Spotsylvania farm, and an idea began to take root. Upon his return, he presented the notion of planting grapes to his wife, Ann. After a great deal of thought, the two decided to plant a vineyard and launch a family business. They hired a consultant and started taking seminars on grape growing and winemaking.

Nice place with a nice atmosphere. I enjoyed listening to the live music in a comfortable environment. The only draw back was the tasting part. So, the owner kept eyeballing the amount being poured into the tasting glasses. The nice lady pouring made a joke about it, but I just thought it was in kind of bad taste (not pun intended) for him to be lingering around over us watching how much she was pouring. If you're having issues with the amounts being poured during the tasting, then address it quietly, but not in front of your customers.

I had an opportunity to volunteer at the Townpoint Wine Festival in Norfolk, it was a BLAST! Jeff and Phil thank you for welcoming me to the Lake Anna Family. I look forward to volunteering again in the near future😊🍷

The renfest here is outstanding. Not as good as the one in Maryland, but close. We will be back.

Our group had an enjoyable time. We did a wine tasting, each had a glass of wine. Most of us found something we enjoyed enough to bring bottles home. But really the best part was talking with the ladies behind the counter. Couldn't have asked for a better time.

Cheryl conducted our tasting. She was very pleasant and answered all of our questions. The setting was gorgeous and provided us a relaxing experience as we escaped the traffic home. I highly recommend this winery. The wines were phenomenal.
